Ad Story - Jeremy Lumber
The Jones lumber Ad was conceived and photographed in Salt Lake City, Utah during February of 2007. This was the second half of the Keegan Lumber Ad I explained a few blogs ago. The plan was very simple in which the team of Jeremy and Keegan would find, build and shred wooded terrain and our good friend Chris Dabica would be the on the spot art director. He accompanied us on the shoot to get a real feel for the situation at hand, which would help him create a more realistic advertisement of what went down.
We met up at Guardsman Pass with one snowmobile and a general idea of where we were going. Jeremy shuttled us in about two clicks one by one with snowboards, rope, a saw, a couple of knives and camera gear. By the time I arrived (being the last one shuttled in), Keegan had a jump on the first obstacle, as it was half completed. It was only a matter of minutes before we were hitting this tree-jam-to-fakie type obstacle.
On to the second spot, which featured a 50-50 tree ride, to tail bonk 360 out, to flat landing. A very technical feature, but Keegan had no problems with it and got his ad completed within a few tries.
After two very successful shoots completed in just a couple of hours, we headed back to the first spot and rethought what we could do. After some conversation, we decided to use the existing kicker, but widened it a bit so Jeremy could elevate himself through two big trees with a handplant. Only thing we needed to do was install the “high jump bar” between the trees so he could plant his hand. I lowered myself into the trench to get the angle you see here.
All in all a super fun time making something happen in the woods with no pressure to get super gnarly. Cheers, Blotto
