Stoked on Saturday - Olympic Uniforms
As we promised yesterday, we give you a first look at the 2010 US Olympic Uniforms.

We "unveiled' these last week at our Flagship store in NYC, and as you can see, they are looking very awesome. As per a comment yesterday, if you don't know what the Olympics are uh... the Olympics are like the ultimate battle for world sporting dominance. Pretty much every country sends a team of athletes to compete in heaps of different events to see who is the best. A few of those events happen to involve snowboarding, and since we really like snowboarding, we were lucky enough tot get to make this years uniforms (we did them for the last Olympics too, remember the pin stripes?).

Anyway, this time around we gave the "kits" a very classic American style (jeans and flannels), and tried to put as much "snowboarding" into the uniform- which by definition is not very snowboardy. If the early season conditions of British Columbia are any indication, the riders probably wont need it, but we colab'ed with GORE-TEX on these to make sure they are the most awesome uniforms possible, both fashionable and functional.
You will for sure be seeing a lot more of these things come February- that is when the Olympics are happening, so yea... mentally prepare for that.
Misty Nug: The first ever Olympic were (probably) in 776 B.C. Their uniforms were not made with GORE-TEX.

Part of a well balanced week of Burton blog posts officially known as "Now Read This,"
Stoked on Saturday provides the positive energy needed to get through a Sunday of no posts

Jeans? Really?? I like the jacket, but the pants are lame. Sorry guys and girls but just because the olympics are in Canada doesn't mean we must dress like them. "I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok"

@Munga actually the bottoms look very cool in the flesh as they really do look like jeans and not like snowboard pants. The details on them are awesome.

See "Canadian Tuxedo" in this week's Techno Tuesdays....lol Like I said, the Jacket is very nice. Jeans have no place on the slopes, unles off course you are a chick and they are Daizy Dukes.
But then again I am obviously no fashion expert.

I really want one of the jackets......Will Burton be selling offering a limited amount for sale?......perhaps for members of the website? I like the jeans idea but shouldn't the pants be more classy for the Olympics? I mean this isn't a rail jam at some midwest semi mountain. I think solid Navy pants would have been a much better option but thats just me. As you can tell I am not fond of the CANADIAN TUXEDO, but I guess it makes sense since the Olympics are held in Vancouver this year, hahahahahaha.

Jake....I think that slimfit "look" you see in the picture(on the left) is the girls outfit and the one on the right is the mens. I may be wrong but that's what I figured looking at the picture.

Some "guys" like the slimfit look on other "guys". I think it belongs on girls though.
Like you said, Backspacer22, it looks like girls on the right, Men on the left.
I learned by watching the video that Pabst Blue Ribbon may actually give you the sensation of being a boardercross racer: check that dude out! He's flying!
Hey, do the pants have leg vents?

I'm down. I would rock these. The pants don't look all that slim, and what's more American than jeans? Nothin. Nice work Burton

Wow these pants are truly awful. The jackets I like, but this being the OLYMPICS, the US is going to wear jeans in front of the entire world? Jeans with RIPS in them? Really? And is that a trucker hat too? I would have liked to have seen something a little cleaner and more professional.

i think USA might just be the new trend setters. I love the idea of the jeans look because who doesn't love a great pair of jeans? And now u get to wear them on the slopes while ur boarding. awesome! i love the colors in the jacket. plaid is so in right now. everybody loves plaid. who cares if we look like lumberjacks, well b some hot lumberjacks. am i right? burton...ur awesome! thx 4 the rad design.

"plaid is so in right now" really.. ya think. Don't be such sheep people. Personally not my thing at all, that goes for both the top and bottom. Kind of white trash for my tastes, but then again snowboarders had that kind of rep in the old days.

I just finished watching the snowboard competition and the U.S. team's uniform is awesome. I'm not really into the bright/neon colors and plaid but the Olympic team jacket looks great. I HOPE this jacket will be for sale to the public.
