The 2nd Annual Great Turkey Chase went off! 38 participants biked through Burlington, VT collecting 556lbs of food to be donated on their way, including stuffing, cranberry sauce, sliced potatoes, turkey gravy, and pumpkin pie filling... all the classic fixings for an America holiday feast! We started down on the waterpark at the rink by the skatepark, making our way in a food buying frenzy through the North End, stopping at The Shopping Bag, Hannaford, City Market Co-Op, Healthy Living, Hannaford on Dorset St, Hannaford South Burlington, Price Chopper, Shaws, Cumberland Farms, Kerry's Kwik Stop, buying one specific good at each store. Last stop was the good Olde North Ender.... where they had their weekly Saturday Disco party going on & winners were announced. Burton Employees took the top 3 podium spots! Aaron Simmers won the race for his 2nd year in a row! Nate Halstead placed 2nd in the fixie division, 4th overall.  Peter Troy, took 2nd... not bad for his 1st bike race and being map-less the 1st leg of the ride! Blotto rounded out the podium taking 3rd in the fixed gear division! Rachel Gitajn also killed it, holding her own competitively with the guys, taking 6th in the fixed gear division, 9th overall. Sarah Loya charged it too... not sure what spot she ended up.  Yours truly got DFL!...

7 people bought 20lb turkeys near the end of the race... all gunnin' for that $50 Blotto Photto cash prize.

In the end it was Lee Trumpore who walked away with $50 bones.

Aaron got a sweet new set of Fyxation tires for winning. Nate scored a dope Bruxe bag. Blotto took home a Chrome hip pouch. I think Peter might have scored the WESC headphones and I saw Lee get the limited KWAYxBruxe jacket, and after that things got a bit crazy.
